Mark Jones on a Yamaha

Mark moves to Emberson Yamaha for 2009

Mark Jones has settled the speculation over his plans for 2009 by signing to ride for Roy Emberson's Yamaha squad for next year aboard the YZ450F.

The 29year old Welshman, 4th in this years British MX1 series, has agreed a 1 year deal to compete in the British MX1 and make a return to the British 4-Stroke series, along with the British Masters and other selected events. Alongside Jones will be this years 4-stroke champion Wayne Smith, who has re-signed with the squad for 2009, but will move to the MX2 class in the main British series for aboard the YZ250F.

"I'm delighted to sign with the Emberson Yamaha team for 2009" commented Jones after signing the contract at Hawkstone Park this weekend. "You can't fail but be impressed with the team. I think Roy Emberson's outfit with Yamaha have won the British 4-stroke for 3 of the last 4 years, so they have proven track record of success, and are committed to bringing the best out of both the machine and rider. I'm really looking forward to next year"
