Motocross Club AGM
On 20th January Foreshore MXC met for the first time in 2009 and discussed future aims and objectives of the club who operate at the Cardiff motocross centre. The club and CMX centre that are linked with Cardiff city council have so far been able to reduce the problems of anti social behaviour link to off road bikes in the city by up to 64% with the various volunteer training programmes and activities that take place at the Cardiff motocross site.
With the recent appointment of the volunteer coordinator for the project Mark Thomas who is funded by the country side council of Wales .The coordinators role is to help and support the club structure and are now looking to expand their activities in the areas of motocross training and competition. At the meeting there was express support from some of Wales premier motocross athletes to support the club and the ventures from the likes of Mark Jones, Jamie Lewis, Ashley greedy, Andrew Gillet, Glen Phillips, Brett Hillman and Carl Jones to just name a few.
One of the clubs aim is to now formulate an all new motocross training Academy affiliated to the ACU with the aim of supporting national and club level competitors who then in turn can help develop grass root level / local volunteers and young people, to even help further Cardiff city council and their aims and objectives linked to the Cardiff motocross centre.
Ideas discussed at the meeting to try and engage with volunteers and local enthusiasts is to develop an all new mid week race series designed around existing and new race formats, such as head to head races and team events and look at and develop other new racing formats of motocross competitions to make the whole package attractive to volunteers and various local welsh media companies.
Mark Thomas will be looking into funding streams to help the volunteer club structure. The club will be holding their first Annual General Meeting and, all are welcome on

Video Reviews
One of the methods we use at ThomJonesMX to aid the training is video recordings of your riding which we then upload to YouTube. (with your permission please see signing on document) So you can actually see your riding, So if we are working with you on a certain topic i.e. body position you can see from the videos what your positioning was like before and after and have a better understanding of your riding technique.

Summer Boot Camp
Back in the summer we held a few of our motocross boot camps there was no camping on site, but loads of riding and bike time with around 7 hours of riding each day. There was no sitting around and having friendly chats about how factory your bike looks or sounds. Just lots of riding with enough time to off to refuel the bike and body. This is sort of how our mx skills improvement programme works ,by practising to make it perfect through doing.
